Malé staré sudy v pivniciach Vila Nova de Gaia
Práve tu je asi ukryté tajomstvo: v malých, dobre vyzretých dubových sudoch víno naberá koncentráciu počas dlhých rokov pomalého zrenia za prístupu vzduchu v chladných pivniciach vo Vila Nova de Gaia. Drevo je vyzreté a chuťovo neutrálne, jeho úlohou je už len pomalý prístup vzduchu. Colheita musí v dreve zrieť najmenej sedem rokov a plní sa podľa potreby, takže v sude môže stráviť aj oveľa dlhšie; rok fľašovania nájdete na etikete.
Hrozno a lagar
Hrozno sa oberá v septembri ručne, z viníc starších než šesťdesiat rokov na bridlicových pôdach. V lagare, plytkej otvorenej kadi, sa potom šliape nohami. Víno je pripravené na pitie a dekantovať ho netreba.

Wonderfully dry citrous fruit hints, smoky flavours and orange peel in the nose.
Taste
Dark orange chocolate, butterscotch on the palate. Rich and citrous acidity, elegant, very well structured with a fresh, firm concentration and great length.
Podávanie
Dry fruits, dry nuts, almonds, raisins, peaches, apricots, etc. Desserts based on eggs, pies with dry fruits, coffee, vanilla. Slightly chilled it can also be used as aperitif.
Niepoort
Niepoort is an independent family winery creating Port Wines since 1842. The first property in Douro, Quinta de Nápoles, was bought in 1987. In the last years Niepoort took on the great challenge of interpreting other soils and climates and acquired two properties in other regions - Dão and Bairrada.
