Popis
Lagares sú plytké otvorené kade, v ktorých sa hrozno šliape nohami. Mušt v nich krátko leží na šupkách a získava z nich farbu.
Tri a pol roka v malých sudoch
Potom prichádzajú staré dubové sudy s objemom okolo 550 litrov, v ktorých víno zreje 42 mesiacov. Drevo je vyzreté a chuťovo neutrálne, jeho úlohou je už len pomalý prístup vzduchu. Ovocie tak vo víne ostáva a k nemu sa postupne pridávajú orechy a sušené plody.

Aroma
The aroma is somewhat reserved with subtle primary notes of dark fruit.
Taste
Its silky palate is accompanied by a very tight structure which harbours some superb dark fruits including blackberries and black plums, leading to a long and powerful but balanced finish.
Podávanie
Perfect with “Queijo da Serra”, Stilton or other blue cheeses. Egg based desserts and “pão de ló” (Portuguese sponge based cake).
Niepoort
Niepoort is an independent family winery creating Port Wines since 1842. The first property in Douro, Quinta de Nápoles, was bought in 1987. In the last years Niepoort took on the great challenge of interpreting other soils and climates and acquired two properties in other regions - Dão and Bairrada.
