Color
Dark amber core and lighter rim, reminiscent of a youngish Colheita-style Port
Aroma
Sharp and beautifully complex, as a result of the longer-than-usual time spent in casks. Hazelnuts gently showing through the ever-decreasing fruit.
Taste
In the mouth it shows lovely acidity, making it sharp and elegant, with great complexity and balance. Quite spicy, moving away from the fresher fruits into hazelnuts and prunes. The finish is fresh and at the same time delicate and very long.
Food pairing
Garrafeira is a fine and elegant Port and is best appreciated on its own and in good company.

Reviews
Niepoort is an independent family winery creating Port Wines since 1842. The first property in Douro, Quinta de Nápoles, was bought in 1987. In the last years Niepoort took on the great challenge of interpreting other soils and climates and acquired two properties in other regions - Dão and Bairrada.
Discover the Niepoort Triangle which express the different terroirs: Schist (Douro), Limestone (Bairrada) and Granite (Dão).
