Šliapanie nohami
Hrozno zo starých viníc putuje do žulových lagares, otvorených kamenných kadí, kde sa šliape nohami a kde mušt potom aj fermentuje.
Rok v dreve
Po fermentácii víno zreje dvanásť mesiacov v dreve a zvyšok času čaká v nereze. Nerez mu už chuť nemení, takže tóny z dreva a ovocie ostávajú tak, ako ich sud nastavil. Pred podávaním ho opatrne prelejte do karafy, časom si na dne fľaše vytvorí usadeninu.

While this winery might be one of the newest additions to the port wine lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia, the Vasques de Carvalho family history has strong roots intertwined with the history of the Douro.
In 1880, by decision of José Vasques de Carvalho given the exceptional quality of the harvest, almost all of the production was not sold that year. This wine has been aged and carefully stored in family warehouses up to the present day.
Vasques de Carvalho winery produces a variety of great port wines like LBV and Vintage Port, but the real treasure are the old Tawny Ports. In the category of Tawnies with an indication of age they are just outstanding.
