Tawny Reserva vzniká zmiešaním viacerých šarží s priemerným vekom sedem rokov, ktoré zreli v sudoch s objemom okolo 550 litrov.
Sedem rokov v sude
V sude víno pomaly stráca sýtu červenú farbu a naberá exotický nádych dreva. Sladkosť mu pritom vyvažuje živá kyselina, ktorá ho drží svieže aj po rokoch v sude.

On the nose, it is fresh and lively, with pine and cedar notes; jammy fruit such as orange and plum, a light exotic touch of the wood where it has matured and a liqueur like hint.
Taste
On the palate, it is elegant, round, with excellent volume; the lively acidity balances its sweet and creamy character; long and vibrant finish.

It can be served as an aperitif or at the end of the meal, with dried fruit cakes.

While this winery might be one of the newest additions to the port wine lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia, the Vasques de Carvalho family history has strong roots intertwined with the history of the Douro.
In 1880, by decision of José Vasques de Carvalho given the exceptional quality of the harvest, almost all of the production was not sold that year. This wine has been aged and carefully stored in family warehouses up to the present day.
Vasques de Carvalho winery produces a variety of great port wines like LBV and Vintage Port, but the real treasure are the old Tawny Ports. In the category of Tawnies with an indication of age they are just outstanding.
