LBV 2017 je ročníkové portské z Doura, za ktorým stojí vinár Jaime Costa. LBV je skratka pre neskoro fľašované ročníkové portské, ktoré na rozdiel od klasického Vintage ide do fľaše až po štyroch až šiestich rokoch zrenia.
Nerez aj drevené kade
Zrelo štyri roky, časť v nereze a časť v balseiros, veľkých drevených kadiach, do ktorých sa zmestia aj tisíce litrov. Nerez vínu žiadnu vlastnú chuť nepridáva, drevená kaď k nemu popri zrení pomaly pripúšťa vzduch.
Pred podávaním do karafy
Do fľaše ide nefiltrované, takže na dne časom vytvorí usadeninu; pred podávaním ho preto opatrne prelejte do karafy. Otvoriť ho môžete pokojne dnes. Výrobca mu ale sľubuje ešte celé nasledujúce desaťročie vývoja, takže kto ho odloží, dostane o pár rokov iné víno.

On the nose, strongly intense and concentrated, with red and black fruit notes, standing out plum and some currant, along with more balsamic notes (cedar).
Taste
With a great volume on the mouth, where aromas blend with a fruity flavour, it reveals an excellent quality acidity. Long and persistent finish, with a global quality that allows expecting an exceptional evolution on the next decade.
Podávanie
It pairs perfectly with chocolate and fat cheese as well as with some meat dishes, such as game dishes.

While this winery might be one of the newest additions to the port wine lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia, the Vasques de Carvalho family history has strong roots intertwined with the history of the Douro.
In 1880, by decision of José Vasques de Carvalho given the exceptional quality of the harvest, almost all of the production was not sold that year. This wine has been aged and carefully stored in family warehouses up to the present day.
Vasques de Carvalho winery produces a variety of great port wines like LBV and Vintage Port, but the real treasure are the old Tawny Ports. In the category of Tawnies with an indication of age they are just outstanding.
