Vintage 2015 vzniklo z ročníka, ktorý začal suchou zimou a pokračoval mimoriadne teplou jarou. Hrozno napriek tomu dozrievalo pomaly a rovnomerne.
Šliapanie nohami
Hrozno sa šliape nohami v lagare, plytkej otvorenej kadi, kde potom mušt aj fermentuje.
Krátko v dreve, potom nerez
Po krátkom pobyte v dreve víno dozrievalo v nerezových tankoch až do fľašovania. Drevo tak nestihlo pridať vlastnú chuť a ovocie ostalo v popredí. Pred podávaním ho opatrne prelejte do karafy, časom si na dne fľaše vytvorí usadeninu.

On the nose, it is elegant and perfumed, with great complexity. It perfectly combines fresh fruit aroma, blackberry and dark chocolate notes.
Taste
On the palate, it feels concentrated and fresh and it reveals the firm and clearly present tannins. It is austere, powerful and vigorous, with excellent final acidity. A wine for decades.
Podávanie
It pairs perfectly with cheese, like Stilton, Gorgonzolla or Serra and also with game dishes.

While this winery might be one of the newest additions to the port wine lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia, the Vasques de Carvalho family history has strong roots intertwined with the history of the Douro.
In 1880, by decision of José Vasques de Carvalho given the exceptional quality of the harvest, almost all of the production was not sold that year. This wine has been aged and carefully stored in family warehouses up to the present day.
Vasques de Carvalho winery produces a variety of great port wines like LBV and Vintage Port, but the real treasure are the old Tawny Ports. In the category of Tawnies with an indication of age they are just outstanding.
