Popis
Šesťdesiatdeväť percent. Toto nie je fľaša na bežné popíjanie, ale surový madeirský destilát v sile, v akej vyšiel z kotla. Kto chce vedieť, ako chutí trstina bez akéhokoľvek zjemnenia, dostane to tu naplno.
Divoké kvasinky
Bežné destilérie pridávajú do kvasu vyšľachtené kvasinky, aby bol výsledok každý rok rovnaký. Tento rum kvasil na divokých kvasinkách, ktoré na trstine prirodzene žijú. Kvasenie je pomalšie a menej predvídateľné, zato do destilátu vnesie tóny, ktoré kultúrne kvasinky nedajú. Tu sú to citrusy, konkrétne citrón a grapefruit. Séria je limitovaná a ďalšia bude iná.
V pohári
Číry a bezfarebný. Vo vôni ostrá, autentická tropická vôňa, kvasená trstina, citrón, grapefruit, melón, zelený banán, sušená zelenina a náznak anízu. V ústach ľahké telo a jemná sladkosť, ktoré idú proti sviežosti a minerálnosti. Dobre stavaný, dlhý, končí sucho a mierne korenisto.
Ako podávať
Nie čistý a nie na exa. Do malého pohára nalejte dva centilitre a pridajte pár kvapiek vody, alkohol tým klesne a vôňa sa naopak otvorí. Druhá možnosť je použiť ho ako overproof zložku v kokteile, kde má kúsok destilátu preraziť cez šťavu a ľad: v tiki nápojoch alebo v ponche, ak ju chcete výrazne silnejšiu.

Aroma
Authentic and pungent on the nose, it showcases an intense tropical fruity aroma, with some sweet notes of fermented sugarcane. Indigenous yeasts have enriched it with citrus fruit notes, suggesting lemon and grapefruit. The tasting experience once again emphasizes tropical qualities with hints of melon and green banana, complemented by dry vegetal flavors and brief hints of anise.
Taste
The light body and slightly sweet flavor contrast with the freshness, minerality, and persistence on the palate. Well-structured, long, and engaging, it finishes dry with a touch of spiciness.
Podávanie
Nepodáva sa k jedlu. Dva centilitre v malom pohári s pár kvapkami vody, alebo ako overproof zložka do tiki kokteilov a silnejšej ponchy.
William Hinton
Although the company name might not sound particularly Portuguese, it has been based on the Portuguese island of Madeira since 1845, when an English businessman William Hinton laid its foundation stone. The distillery can therefore look back on an impressive history of around 150 years.
Before it had to be temporarily closed in 1986, the distillery was already dedicated to producing the finest Hinton Rum, which became a success around the world. In 2006, the descendants of William Hinton decided to breathe new life into the business. The focus on locally grown sugar cane and production with great attention to detail make William Hinton Rum stand out from the crowd.
