Desaťročné tawny z Doura od Quinta da Côrte. Desiatka nehovorí o veku, ale o chuti: do zmesi ide mladšie aj oveľa staršie víno a mieša sa dovtedy, kým výsledok nesadne do profilu desaťročného portského.
Žulové lagares a šliapanie nohami
Hrozno sa spracúva tradične: šliape sa nohami v lagares, plytkých žulových kadiach. Šupky sa tak otvárajú pomaly a šetrne, takže vinár má nad vylúhovaním farby a chuti kontrolu, akú stroj nedá.
Sudy zvané pipas
Víno potom leží v pipas, teda v sudoch s objemom okolo 600 litrov. Menší sud znamená viac kontaktu so vzduchom a práve odtiaľ má tawny orechové a sušené tóny namiesto čerstvého ovocia. Piť sa dá už teraz, zrenie vo fľaši nepotrebuje.

Aroma
This 10 year old Tawny immediately reveals a superb aromatic palette, starting with notes of almond, walnut, figs, dried fruits, currants and candied orange, then develops toasted, woody and turpentine notes.
Taste
In the mouth it displays the same kind of complexity, with a deep, rich, concentrated structure underpinned by a glorious acidity It develops with great vigour and integrity towards a finish of exceptional length, leaving very elegant rancio flavours on the palate.

Ready to drink now, it goes beautifully with lobster in sauce, a langoustine risotto, fish in saffron, or fresh goat’s milk cheese or a Comté cheese.

Quinta da Côrte
The Quinta da Corte is an exclusive small winery that produces very high quality port wines in small quantities.
The vineyards are located in Cima Corgo, covering 24 hectares in the center of the Douro Valley. Their plots, planted mainly on leveled terraces, contain a fine variety of old vines. As a high mountain wine-growing region, the central location in the valley ensures a relatively balanced climate.
Today, Quinta da Corte produces Late Bottled Vintage (LBV), Vintage Port wines and Tawnys, all of which are of excellent quality and impress with their fine and complex taste.
