Tabuaço, Ervedosa do Douro a Numão: hrozno pre túto zmes pochádza z troch lokalít v podoblastiach Cima-Corgo a Douro Superior, z bridlicových pôd a z viníc, ktoré majú dvadsať až štyridsať rokov. Strapce sa vyberajú už vo vinohrade, nie až v pivnici.
Kvasenie zastaví destilát
Mušt krátko leží na šupkách a naberá z nich farbu. Potom sa kvasenie zastaví vínnym destilátom, čím vínu ostane zvyškový cukor, a odtiaľ pochádza celá jeho sladkosť.
Najmenej sedem rokov v dubových sudoch
V dubových sudoch víno leží aspoň sedem rokov, počas ktorých z ovocia postupne vznikajú tóny sušených plodov a vanilky. Označenie Special Reserve smie výrobca použiť len so schválením Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto (IVDP), ktorý zmes posudzuje pred fľašovaním.

Poças
Poças is a family company producing Port and Douro DOC wines. It is proudly run by the family of the same name who founded the company more than a century ago. It's also one of the few fully Portuguese Port companies that has belonged to the same family since it was born in 1918.
While the head office is located in Vila Nova de Gaia (Porto), the grapes are coming from the Douro Demarcated Region where Poças’ 3 Estates are - Quinta das Quartas, Quinta de Santa Bárbara and Quinta de Vale de Cavalos. The Old Tawny Ports have built Poças’ reputation, but DOC Douro wines have been proving their own quality over the last 30 years.
