Colheita 2001 vyšla ako pamätná edícia k dvadsiatemu výročiu zápisu Alto Douro Vinhateiro do zoznamu svetového dedičstva UNESCO. Víno je z toho istého roku, v ktorom región ocenenie získal.
Portské z jediného zberu
Colheita musí v dreve zrieť najmenej sedem rokov a plní sa podľa potreby, takže v sude môže stráviť aj oveľa dlhšie; rok fľašovania nájdete na etikete. Zreje až do chvíle, keď ide do fľaše, a keďže je celé z jedného zberu, nesie charakter svojho ročníka.
Sladkosť, ktorú drží kyselina
Kvasenie sa v pravej chvíli zastaví vínnym destilátom, čím vínu ostane zvyškový cukor. Tu ho vyvažuje pomerne vysoká kyselina, takže víno pôsobí v pohári skôr sviežo než ťažko.

Taste
It emerges with notes of spices and toasted caramel, a balsamic touch of wax, with a slight menthol. Creamy and full on the palate, it reveals enormous freshness and impressive balance.

An intense wine, which can be enjoyed on its own, with medium-intensity cheeses, rich egg-based desserts, or a variety of sweets made with dried fruits and spices.
