Hrozno sa odstopkuje a mušt potom fermentuje v nerezových kadiach. Počas fermentácie sa neustále premiešava, takže zo šupiek naberie farbu, triesloviny aj arómy. Kvasenie sa zastaví vínnym destilátom, čím vínu ostane zvyškový cukor, a práve odtiaľ pochádza jeho sladkosť.

This house was founded in 1750 by Henry Burmester and John Nash with the aim of producing port wines of the highest quality. Their wines originate from Quinta do Arnozelo in the Douro Valley, and offer fruity and balsamic notes with balanced acidity and elegance.
Today Burmester is world-famous especially for its aged Tawnies and Colheitas.
