Tawny na bežný štvrtkový večer
Po večeri s rodinou, pohár mierne vychladeného tawny sadne k tvrdému syru.
Desiatka na etikete nie je vek vína, ale chuťový cieľ. Vinár skladá zmes z ročníkov rôzneho veku tak, aby chutila ako desaťročné portské. Hrozno pochádza z tradičných viníc a terás v Doure, kde vinič rastie na bridlicových pôdach a má tridsať až štyridsať rokov.
Malé sudy a kade
Mušt tri až štyri dni odležal na šupkách, aby z nich nabral farbu a arómy. Potom sa kvasenie zastaví vínnym destilátom, čím vínu ostane zvyškový cukor priamo z hrozna. Zreje v menších drevených kadiach a v sudoch typu pipa a meia pipa, teda v nádobách, ktoré vínu dovolia pomaly dýchať.
