This white wine was created as a tribute to Armindo de Sousa Pereira, who breathed new life into the historic Vinho dos Mortos, a family tradition of Casa Sousa (1792), preserved since the time of the French invasions of Portugal. Mindo, as he was affectionately known, used to say: “Vinho dos Mortos brings joy to the living.” Thus, Alegria dos Vivos emerges as the complementary face of this legacy. If Vinho dos Mortos is memory and resilience, this is celebration and light. Made from old vines in Trás-os-Montes, it brings with it the joy, history, and soul that make tradition a living story.
