Quinta de Ventozelo’s vintage port is its quintessential product, a supremely powerful and fruity reserve. It preserves all of the spirit and beauty of Ventozelo to ensure long bottle life. This is a wine that changes as the years pass, revealing new experiences and sensations with every stage.. The viticultural year of 2018 had high rainfall, mild temperatures, which leaded to late maturations. The harvest began later than usual, and took place with high temperatures, overall, and almost without any rainfall. The wines have great quality, elegance, and balance. After the second winter of carefully controlled storage, they showed already an extraordinary ageing potential. This Vintage Port was produced with fully matured and balanced grapes, handpicked in September. Then they went through an intense maceration, for the first 48 hours, maximizing the extraction from the grape skins. This was followed by a temperature controled fermentation in lagars, interrupted at a calculated moment by the addition of brandy. 2 years, between stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks.
