Ervedosa do Douro v podoblasti Cima-Corgo a Numão v podoblasti Douro Superior: odtiaľ pochádza hrozno z viníc starých štyridsať až šesťdesiat rokov. Vinári ho vyberajú už priamo vo vinici, do zberu ide len to najlepšie.
Dlhý pobyt na šupkách
Mušt zostáva dlho na šupkách, aby z nich vytiahol farbu a triesloviny, a fermentácia beží pri kontrolovanej teplote. Potom sa kvasenie zastaví vínnym destilátom, čím vínu ostane zvyškový cukor.
Zrenie pod dohľadom IVDP
Víno zreje v drevených kadiach a priebežne sa degustuje, kým zrenie neschváli Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto (IVDP). Nefiltrované portské časom vytvorí na dne fľaše usadeninu, preto ho pred podávaním opatrne prelejte do karafy.

Poças
Poças is a family company producing Port and Douro DOC wines. It is proudly run by the family of the same name who founded the company more than a century ago. It's also one of the few fully Portuguese Port companies that has belonged to the same family since it was born in 1918.
While the head office is located in Vila Nova de Gaia (Porto), the grapes are coming from the Douro Demarcated Region where Poças’ 3 Estates are - Quinta das Quartas, Quinta de Santa Bárbara and Quinta de Vale de Cavalos. The Old Tawny Ports have built Poças’ reputation, but DOC Douro wines have been proving their own quality over the last 30 years.
